Welcome to Troop 533!

Dear Girl Scout Parents:

We would like to welcome your daughters to an exciting year, surrounded by fun, new friendships, and fresh ideas.  We're so happy to share this experience with you and your daughter since we know the true essence of Girl Scouts starts with the journey that the girls begin and end with a lifetime of memories.

Girl Scouts has been serving girls for over 100 years with the idea of building courage, confidence, and character to help them become leaders within their community and make a difference in the world we live in. This cannot be done without the support and dedication from you, the parents.

There are forms to fill out for Registration.  These forms can be found at http://www.citrus-gs.org/resources/gscc-forms/

-- The forms needed are Girl Membership form, Adult Membership form, Health form, and                     the Parent Interest Survey

We look forward to working with you and your daughter!

To ensure a successful year,  we are strongly depending on your assistance.  Therefore, listed below are some troop policies:

1)  All Brownie meetings will be held on Monday from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (unless otherwise noted due to school holidays, troop events, etc.) at the Pine Castle house (unless otherwise noted).  A troop meeting/event calendar will be provided for known dates.  Many activities arise during the year, so every effort will be made to provide advance notice.

All Daisy meetings will be from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on Monday nights. Aforementioned previously is the same.  Follow a link below to access a calendar with all current events and meetings throughout the year.

2)  Troop dues are $5 per meeting.  Any additional event participation costs will be provided in advance of the event.

3) Parents you are welcome to attend the meeting; however,  if you choose to drop off your daughter, we ask that you please be on time when picking her up.

4)  We ask that the girls wear their uniforms to outside meetings or events; uniforms are not required for regular meetings.

5) For the safety of the girls, we ask that all parents fill out both a membership and volunteer application.

6) When we have to attend an outside event, we ask for additional adult attendance.  Siblings are welcomes, but also must be under adult supervision.

To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
          honest and fair,
          friendly and helpful,
          considerate and caring,
          courageous and strong,
and responsible for what I say and do,
and to
          respect myself and others,
          respect authority,
          use resources wisely,

make the world a better place,

and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

We couldn’t do this without parent support – please think about how you can help throughout the year with our troop. Your help is always appreciated!  Below are just a few areas where you can support your daughter’s Brownie troop:

  • Troop activity guest – Share information about your hobby, skill or career with Girl Scouts at a troop meeting.  Girls appreciate the opportunity to learn from other knowledgeable adults, and the troop leader will appreciate your support.  This position can also be held by two people working as a team to teach about their interest.

  • Field trip chaperone – Spend one to three hours accompanying a troop to a museum, the zoo, a Braves game, or other outing that suits your interests and schedule.

  • First aid volunteer – All Girl Scout outings and events require the presence of a person certified in first aid.  Training for this certification is available through the council.

  • Cookie sale booth attendant – Supervise Girl Scouts, merchandise, and money collection at a cookie booth sale during the month of March.

  • Troop cookie manager – Attend service unit cookie training, coordinate the delivery and storage of cookies for a troop, and complete cookie sale reports, and distribute recognitions.

  • Treasurer – Help manage the troop funds by managing deposits and troop costs.
